Our first-ever fundraiser, “Hungry Hub,” is available now! Hungry Hub includes two volumes of simple and fun recipes, video clips, wellness tips, and YWH photos of youth in the kitchen. Watch the virtual launch event here.
Mayor George Pirie expressed his support for the fundraiser: “I think the Youth Wellness Hub has done a tremendous job in engaging the youth in our city, particularly with the added challenge of the pandemic making virtual workshops necessary. Learning how to cook is a fundamental skill that can aid with nutrition, health and wellness, and even financial management. It’s a great fundraising initiative and an opportunity to try out some fun recipes while supporting the Youth Wellness Hub.
Fundraising Chair Mike Scott stated: “The e-recipe book will allow the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub to continue to promote healthy nutrition in a fun and interactive format while also raising funds to support its youth-centered programming. It builds on the great work being done by the Youth Wellness Hub on their Instagram Live events and provides a low-cost resource for parents and youth. Please consider purchasing this e-recipe book, “Hungry Hub” to help support the ongoing programming offered by the Youth Wellness Hub.”
The two volumes are available to purchase at $6 each or $10 for both volumes. Volume one includes recipes for youth of all ages and volume two has recipes for youth attending post-secondary or living on their own.
The YWH is excited to share this unique fundraiser with the public and if you would like to purchase an e-recipe book please go to ywhtimmins.ca/shop.
The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub (YWH) was established in September 2018, to provide programs and services (in English and in French) that support the wellbeing of youth aged 12-25 in the community.
During regular operations, the Timmins YWH offers two hubs per week on a rotational basis throughout the community, utilizing thirteen community partner locations including schools/colleges, the library, YMCA, Science Timmins, and outdoor locations in the summer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Timmins YWH is offering virtual programming on Instagram and Zoom.
