The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub (TYWH) is delighted to announce the receipt of a financial contribution in the amount of $1000 from CIBC Wood Gundy, and an additional $1000 from Fidelity Investments Canada. The funds were raised from the CIBC Wood Gundy Couples Golf Tournament held at Spruce Needles Golf Course in Timmins on August 13 & 14, 2022. These funds will be used for activities and programs offered to youth by the TYWH.

In September 2018, the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub was established to provide programs and services that support the wellbeing of youth aged 12 to 25 and their families in the Timmins community. Co-created by youth, the TYWH is a safe, inclusive and welcoming space to support youth who need access to care, including counselling services, peer support, social programs, and other resources and tools.

The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub is part of a provincial network of youth hubs, called Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO). YWHO is a critical step toward improving Ontario’s mental health and addiction services for youth and young adults by: providing rapid access to easily identifiable mental health and substance use services with walk-in, low-barrier services and clear service pathways; providing evidence-based interventions matched to individuals’ level of need, and supported transitions to specialized care services when the severity of need is evident; integrating mental health, substance use, primary care, vocational, housing and other support services into a one-stop-shop model of care offered in a youth-friendly space; establishing common evaluation across sites; and co-creating services with youth & families.
