The Timmins Youth Wellness Hub (TYWH) is excited to announce that they are continuing to offer outdoor activities this summer. The activities are hosted at several locations across the city on Tuesday afternoons from 1-3 pm. Snacks are provided to all youth that attend and counselling support is available.

On August 10, 2021 from 1-3 pm the TYWH will be offering free Mini Putt at Hollinger Park to all youth aged 12-25. In collaboration with the Porcupine Health Unit and EMS there will be a drop-in vaccine clinic (for 1st and 2nd doses) on site from 12-4 pm.

“We are pleased to announce this collaboration with PHU and EMS to offer a vaccine clinic for youth. We will have a counsellor on site who will be able to offer support for anyone that may be feeling nervous about getting the vaccine. PHU staff will also be available to answer any questions youth may have.” — Mason Charbonneau, Program and Wellbeing Coordinator, Timmins Youth Wellness Hub

“In addition to these in-person activities, we are also offering virtual programming on Instagram Live on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 4 pm. These activities include cooking demonstrations, crafts, health and wellness activities, games, and more! All of our virtual activities are also saved to the IGTV tab of our Instagram profile, for youth to watch at any time.” — Nikki St Clair, Assistant Coordinator, Timmins Youth Wellness Hub

To keep us all healthy, the TYWH has put safety guidelines and protocols into place as prescribed by the Ministry of Health and the Porcupine Health Unit. Youth participants will need to bring a water bottle, a non-medical face mask (the YWH can supply a mask to any youth who does not have one), and sunscreen.

More information about these activities, including the full schedule, location information, and COVID-19 safety measures, is available on the TYWH website (www.ywhtimmins.ca) and their Instagram and Facebook pages (@ywhtimmins).
