“It was no accident” the Timmins Youth Wellness Hub was among the youth hubs selected from across Ontario last year to receive secure annual funding from the provincial government, says Anne Vincent, the hub’s executive director.

At the time of the funding announcement, the hub had gained steady growth since its start-up in September 2018 and was seen to be fulfilling an important need in Timmins.

On Thursday, Vincent credited a combination of community support, donations from industry and funding from the United Way for providing a springboard that enabled the hub to develop its programming and prove its worth to the province.

“Now with our new building at 45 Spruce St. S. opening in October, with our signage on the building, we’ll have a permanent location and expanded staff and expanded hours,” said Vincent, who was among a handful of local agency representatives invited to speak at the United Way campaign launch held at the Timmins Ramada Inn Thursday.
